Software Requirements Page

This page lists the client application software and supporting software that you may need to use your Renaissance Place products.

If any programs need to be installed or updated, make sure you are logged into the computer with the rights or permissions required to install software for all users. If you do not know whether you have those rights at the computer, or if you do not have those rights, contact your school's technology/computer coordinator.

Server name or address:
This is the name or IP address of this Renaissance Place server. Note this information if you will be using client application software; some of this software requires you to enter the server name or address.

Renaissance Place ID:
This is a unique identifier that provides a shortcut to your Renaissance Place site. It can be used during the setup of Accelerated Reader on iPad®, iPhone® or iPod touch® devices or the STAR App on iPad. The Renaissance Place ID automatically appears on the Renaissance Place Welcome page and can be used wherever you see the RP ID image going forward.

Client Application Software:
This is software that works with your Renaissance Place products. For example, Accelerated Reader for iOS allows students to quiz on iPad, iPhone or iPod touch devices, while the AccelScan and Renaissance Responder programs are used with Accelerated Maths for marking. If you need any of this software, click the link for your operating system. Some links will begin downloading the software; others will take you to a website where you can get the software.

Supporting Software:
When this page opens, your computer is being checked to see if it has the necessary supporting software (such as Adobe Reader or Adobe Flash Player) to run Renaissance Place software.

  • Adobe Flash Player will show an animation if it is working properly. If it does not work, click the install Version link for instructions on how to download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.
  • To test for Adobe Reader, click Test Adobe Reader. If the software is working properly, a confirmation message will open. If the software is not working properly, click the install Version link for instructions on how to download and install the latest version of Adobe Reader.
  • If the most current version of the Renaissance Place Print Plug-In is installed, a confirmation message with a green tick mark will appear. If you do not have the most current version of the Plug-In, click the install Version link for instructions on how to download and install it.
