Adding Objectives to Objective Lists

Follow these steps to add objectives to objective lists that already exist. If more than one class or group is using the objective list, please keep in mind that your additions will affect all of the classes or groups who are using the list. (You can see which classes are using a list by clicking View/Edit Lists when you get to the Manage Objectives page.)

Who can do this with default capabilities?

School Network/RP Administrators, School Network Staff, School Administrators, School Staff and Teachers

Teachers and school staff can add objectives to lists that they own. School administrators can add objectives to any list for their schools, and school network administrators can add objectives to lists for any school except for the standard library lists, which cannot be changed.

  1. On the Home page, click Accelerated Maths, then Assignment Book. The Assignment Book lists the students who are in one class. The class name is shown above the list of students. If you have access to more than one school, use the School drop-down list to choose a school. If you have more than one class, and you would like to select a different class, click the Class drop-down list and select the class name. If the objective list is being used by a specific group, select the group from the Group drop-down list.

On the Home page, click Accelerated Maths, then Libraries. The Libraries page will list the libraries that are available for one school. If you have access to more than one school, use the School drop-down list to choose a school.

  2. Click Manage Objectives on the left side of the page. The Manage Objectives page will open next.
  3. If you came from the Libraries page, click the Objective List drop-down menu and choose the list that you want to change. If you came from the Assignment Book, you can choose a different group from the Group drop-down list to work with that group's objective list.
  4. Click Add/Remove on the Manage Objectives page. (This link is not available if you do not have permission to change this list or type of list.)
  5. The libraries that you can choose from are listed on the Add/Remove Objectives page. First, use the drop-down list to choose whether you want to add objectives by library, by searching for an objective name or by searching for a standard code.
  6. If you chose to search by library, to add objectives from a library, you can click Add or Add All in the row for that library. Add allows you to select specific objectives that you want to use. Add All adds all objectives from the library to your current objective list.

Please note that objectives are added to the list in the order in which you select them. Start with the library whose objectives should appear first in the list.

If you click Add in the row for a library, on the Add Objectives page, tick the box next to each objective that you want to add to this list. You can select all the objectives on the page by ticking the box next to Objective at the top of the list. If the list is long, only some of the objectives will be shown; click to see the next group, to go back to the previous group, to go to the last group or to go back to the first group. (You can also use the drop-down list to select a specific group of objectives by number.) Click Add to add the selected objectives and return to the Add/Remove Objectives page.

If you chose to search by objective name, enter part of the objective name and click Search. The search results will show the matching objectives that are not in your objective list and those that are. The results identify the library that each objective is from. To add objectives that are not in your list, tick the box next to the objectives you want to add; then, click Add. (If you want to limit your search to certain libraries, click Advanced Search before you begin your search; then, tick the libraries, and click Select to return to the search page, where you can now enter the name you want to search for in those libraries).

If you chose to search by standard code, enter all or part of the code and click Search. The search results will show the matching objectives that are not in your objective list and those that are. The results identify the library that each objective is from. To add objectives that are not in your list, tick the box next to the objectives you want to add; then, click Add. (If you want to limit your search to certain libraries, click Advanced Search before you begin your search; then, tick the libraries, and click Select to return to the search page, where you can now enter the standard code you want to search for in those libraries).

  7. Click Done. You will return to the Manage Objectives page.

On the Add/Remove Objectives page, you can click in the list to the right or in the search results to see sample problems for an objective.
