Assigning Objectives

Follow the steps below to assign objectives to students in a class Assignment Book. (Be sure to select or create the objective list for the class first.)

When you assign an objective, the objective's status changes to Assigned (). When you generate practices, Accelerated Maths includes objectives that are in the Assigned or Ready to Work () state. Once you assign an objective, Accelerated Maths begins tracking the student's progress automatically, based on the student's work. (If you wish, you can un-assign objectives that have been assigned.)

Who can do this with default capabilities?

  1. On the Home page, click Accelerated Maths, then Assignment Book. The Assignment Book lists the students who are in one class. The class name is shown above the list of students. If you want to assign objectives for students in a specific group, select the group from the Group drop-down list.

  4. The next page will show you some of the class objectives. Tick the box next to each objective that you want to assign.
  5. If you selected more than one student, tick the box in the column for the objective and the row for the student. You can also search for specific objectives by clicking , entering key terms and clicking Search. The list will be limited to the objectives that matched your search. To see the full list again, click Show All.

A symbol appears next to each objective to show you the student's status for that objective; to see the name of a symbol, position your mouse over the symbol or click Legend.

  6. After ticking the box(es), click Assign. The Assigned () symbol will appear next to the objectives you ticked.
  7. When you have finished assigning objectives, click Done. You will return to the Assignment Book.

In the Practice preference for each class, you can choose to automatically assign a certain number of objectives to students who have no objectives assigned and none ready for review. Objectives will be assigned when the students' next practice is generated.
