Choosing an Existing Objective List for a Class or Group

Follow these steps to choose the objective list that a class or group will use in the Assignment Book. (If you prefer to copy the selected objective list and preference settings from another class, click here for instructions. If you want to create a new list, click here.)

Who can do this with default capabilities?

School Network/RP Administrators, School Administrators and Teachers

  1. You can choose to go to the Libraries page or directly to the Assignment Book. Be sure to choose the school, class and/or group if necessary if you go to the Assignment Book.
  2. If you went to the Assignment Book, and the class has no objective list assigned, the page will ask which list you will use. Click An existing objective list; then, click Select. If an objective list was already assigned, and you want to choose a different one, click Manage Objectives on the left side of the page.
  3. If you went to the Libraries page, click Manage Objectives on the left side of the page. On the Manage Objectives page, click Assign/Copy Existing List.

  4. On the next page, you can select a list to use for your class. In the List Selection row, click an option to choose the type of list you want to select. Then, click the drop-down list and choose a list.
  5. Library lists are created when your libraries were installed; they include all objectives from the library in the default order, and they cannot be changed. Shared lists are created by administrators and shared with teachers. My Lists are the lists you have created, which are not available to others.

You can view the objectives in the list you selected by clicking View. When you do this, the first few objectives from that list will appear at the bottom of the page. To move forward and back through the list, click and above the list of objectives (or or to go to the beginning or end of the list), or use the drop-down list to choose a specific group of objectives by number. If you want to search for specific objectives, click , enter key terms and click Search to see only the objectives that match the terms you entered; to see all objectives again, click Show All. Click to see the standards related to objectives. Click to see sample problems for an objective.

  6. If you are on the Assign/Copy Objective List page, you must choose the class. In the Class row, click the Class option; then, click the drop-down list and choose the class that you want to use the list.
  7. To use the list you selected without copying it, click Use selected list without changes in the List Options.
  8. To make a copy of the list and use the copy for the selected class, click Make a copy of the list. Then, click in the blank provided for the list name and type a name for the copy of the list. If you are an administrator, decide whether to share the list and click one of the options provided.

  9. Click Save to save your list selection. You will return to the Manage Objectives page.
