Copying Settings from Another Class

By following the steps below, teachers and administrators can copy these settings from one class to other classes:

  • the selected standard (Assignment Book) objective list
  • the settings for the class preferences (Class Marking Periods, Marking, Page Layout, Practice, Printing, Renaissance Home Connect and TOPS Report)
  • group names

This can save you time if you have several Accelerated Maths classes that need to use the same objectives, preferences and group names. These steps do not make copies of objective lists; they simply help you make sure that your classes are using the same list.

Who can do this with default capabilities?

School Network/RP Administrators, School Administrators and Teachers

  1. On the Home page, click Accelerated Maths, then Assignment Book. If you have access to more than one school, use the School drop-down list to choose a school. If you have more than one class, click the Class drop-down list and select a class.

  2. Click Copy Settings on the left side of the page.
  3. On the left side of the Copy Class Settings page, use the drop-down lists to choose the school year and class name for the class that you want to copy settings from. Be sure to choose the school year first.
  4. On the right side of the page, use the drop-down lists to choose the school year and class that you want to copy settings to. (You can choose All Classes.)
  5. Under the drop-down lists, tick the box for each setting that you want to copy.
  6. When you copy the objective list settings, you are not copying the objective lists themselves - you are simply selecting them for the class that is receiving the copied settings. When you select Class Preferences, you are choosing to use all the same class preference settings for this class that you used in the original class. When you copy groups, you are copying the group names form the original class.

  7. Click Copy.
  8. The program will remind you that existing settings will be overwritten for the classes. To continue, click OK.
