Diagnostic Report

This report gives you an overview of student progress on objectives in the Assignment Book.

The Diagnostic Report can be printed either from the Accelerated Maths Reports page or from the Assignment Book for a specific class. For each student, the Diagnostic Report includes this information (click each link for details):

These codes can help teachers identify potential problems in student progress. You will find definitions of the codes and the number of students with each code in the Diagnostic Code Summary.

The student's average percentage correct for problems on practices, exercises, diagnostic tests, regular tests and all tests (Total Tests), and the student's average percentage correct for review problems. (Trouble values are marked.) Review problems are from Mastered objectives; they appear on practices.

This shows you how much actual time students are likely spending working problems for Accelerated Maths objectives. Engaged time = (Number of objectives mastered x 50 minutes per objective) / number of school days in the reporting period. The number of school days is affected by the non-teaching days that your administrator has entered in Renaissance Place.

For each student, this section of the report includes the average number of objectives mastered per week, the number mastered through regular tests, the number mastered through diagnostic tests, the total number and the average year level of the student's mastered objectives. (Each objective is part of a library that has a specific year level.)

After each class, you will find two summaries. The Diagnostic Code summary shows you the number and percentage of students with each code and a description of each diagnostic code. The Class Summary includes the number of objectives mastered through regular tests, diagnostic tests and all tests, the number of students in the class and the number who did not take any tests. The end of the report will show a summary for all classes.

When you print the Diagnostic Report, you can choose these options:

  • Which classes or students to include
  • Which reporting parameter group to include (allows you to select students by school enrolment date, ethnicity, gender, language, characteristics or year)
  • The reporting time period (by marking period or another predefined date range or by custom date range)
  • Whether to group students on the report by class, whether to include data from groups and whether to display each group's data separately from the class information (teachers can select specific groups unless they have already selected specific students)
  • Whether to print the options you chose on the report
