Free Response
A type of problem that requires the student to write in the answer.
Online assignments are always assisted-response; for paper assignments you choose whether to use assisted-response or free-response problems.
Teachers can mark free-response exercises and tests by manually entering Correct or Incorrect for each problem. The answer key printed with the assignment can help.
In the AccelScan software, teachers can scan free-response exercises and tests in Teacher Mode by marking "A" for each correct answer and "B" for each incorrect answer; students who are working in AccelScan's Pupil Mode cannot mark free-response exercises and tests. Students cannot mark their own free-response assignments when they log in to the software, and students who are using the Renaissance Responder or NEO 2 cannot use it for free-response assignments.
