How Students Use Renaissance Home Connect with AM
Depending on the settings chosen by your program administrator, you may have access to Renaissance Home Connect. If so, administrators and teachers will see Renaissance Home Connect on the Home page. If your school has Renaissance Home Connect available, students can use it to view their progress.
If the Renaissance Home Connect preference for the class allows students to mark practices and exercises in Renaissance Home Connect, students can complete those assignments using the Open Accelerated Maths link. Students cannot complete free-response exercises this way; however, they can complete practices and assisted-response exercises.
Make sure the student knows the Renaissance Home Connect address (see the tip below to find out how to print Informational Letters).
Make sure the student knows his or her user name and password. (How to find user names and passwords in Renaissance Place)
For paper assignments only, make sure the student has a printed copy of assignments to be completed. (The problems are not shown in the software for paper assignments. For online assignments, the problems are shown.)
Students follow these steps to use Renaissance Home Connect:
The student gets the printed copy of the assignment.
In a web browser, the student goes to the address provided by the teacher or school.
This address is available in the Informational Letter, which is listed in the Reports under Renaissance Home Connect on your Home page.
The student enters his or her user name and password and clicks Log In.
On the maths tab in Renaissance Home Connect, on the Accelerated Maths tab, the student can see his or her average percentage correct on tests, the number of objectives mastered and the results of his or her last test. The student can click one of the View All links to the right to see a list of his or her objectives ready to test or mastered objectives.
If the student is a member of one or more groups, the overall progress, the last test information, the objectives ready to test and the objectives mastered are for all of the student's work, regardless of whether it was for a group or for the class as a whole. If you click View All for the objectives ready to test or objectives mastered, you can choose to see information for a group or the class work.
The student clicks Practices & Exercises under the Accelerated Maths tab to see his or her average percentage correct for these assignments and the results for the last practice or exercise.
If the student is a member of one or more groups, the overall progress and last practice information is for all of the student's work, regardless of whether it was for a group or for the class as a whole.
If the student has a current assignment (practice or exercise), the student can click Open Accelerated Maths (or Abrir Accelerated Maths) to open the same student program that he or she uses at school. The student can then complete or mark practices or exercises only, just as the student would when logging in at school, if the Renaissance Home Connect preference for the class is set to allow this. Note that the student cannot complete or mark tests or diagnostic tests when opening the program through Renaissance Home Connect. After finishing the work in Accelerated Maths, the student can click Home Connect at the top of the page in the program to go back to Renaissance Home Connect.
When the student has finished using Renaissance Home Connect, the student clicks Log Out in the upper-right corner of the page.
Teachers can send parents informational letters with the Renaissance Home Connect address and the student's login information so that parents can also log in to view the student's progress. The program administrator or teacher can print the letters by clicking the Reports link under the Renaissance Home Connect tab on the Home page. Email invitations can also be sent to others within Renaissance Home Connect.
