Editing the TWI Settings Preference

You can use the TWI Settings Preference to indicate if you want the students in a class asked how a book was read or if you want the program to automatically mark it as Read Independently (when students take Reading Practice Quizzes). Note: The settings in this preference apply only if you have enabled the TWI Monitoring Preference.

Who can do this with standard capabilities?

School Network Administrators, School Administrators, Teachers

  1. Go to the Preferences page. (On the Home page, click Accelerated Reader, then Preferences.)
  2. Click Quiz Settings.
  3. If necessary, choose a school and class from the drop-down lists on the View Individual Student Setting Preferences page. If you want only the Accelerated Reader RP classes you are assigned to as a teacher to be in the class list (regardless of the school), choose My Classes from the School drop-down list.
  4. Click Edit TWI Settings.
  5. The Edit TWI Settings Preference page shows you the setting for each student in the class.
  6. Use the drop-down list in the row for each student to choose the setting you want for that student. You can choose to have the program ask the student how the book was read or to have the program automatically mark the book as Read Independently.

    You can apply the same setting to all the students in this class at once. Under "Set all student values" at the top of the list, choose the setting you want applied from the TWI Settings drop-down list. Then, click Update all students.

  7. Click Save when you have finished.
