Alternate Forms
When viewing the list of levels, you may notice that some levels are labeled as "Alternate Forms," such as "Alternate Forms: Multiplication by 0 to 5."
In an alternate form problem, an equation is shown with the solution, but one of the other numbers in the equation is missing. The student must figure out what the missing number is.
For example, in the equation
10 + 5 = ___
the student would give 15 as the correct answer.
In an alternate-form version of this same equation
10 + ___ = 15
the student would have to calculate the number needed to make the equation true; in this case, 5.
Not every equation presented in an alternate forms level will be an alternate form problem: there will be a number of "standard" equations randomly presented as well.
