What is a NEO 2?

A NEO 2 is a portable device that students use to practise essential skills.

SmartApplets are programs installed on NEO 2s. Students use different SmartApplets to practise different skills. Your school determines which SmartApplets are installed on the NEO 2s.

MathsFacts in a Flash uses two SmartApplets:

Some other SmartApplets are used with other Renaissance Place programs.

NEO 2s can be used:

  • to communicate with MathsFacts in a Flash RP (via a Renaissance Receiver)
  • independently (not actively connected to MathsFacts in a Flash RP)
  • Students can use NEO 2s outside of the classroom/range of a Renaissance Receiver.

Students use NEO 2s to both practise their maths facts and to master levels.
