Getting Ready for the New School Year

Both the tasks for the Renaissance Place Administrator and the tasks for the IT Department/ICT Support should be completed before completing the new school year tasks for MathsFacts in a Flash. All tasks are listed in the New School Year Checklist (see below). (To use your Renaissance Place programs during summer school, refer to the Knowledge Base article 7901571 at support.renaissance.com/techkb/techkb/7901571e.asp.)

A checklist for the new school year is available. You can also refer to Getting Ready for the New School Year in the Renaissance Place Help. This help topic provides links to the tasks that must be completed by your Renaissance Place Administrator and the tasks that must be completed your IT Department/ICT Support.

Instructions for common tasks in MathsFacts in a Flash are found in the Tips for Getting Started - MathsFacts in a Flash.

  1. Verify that The Renaissance Place setup tasks (see above) have been completed and the IT Department/ICT Support tasks (see above) have been completed.
  2. For each MathsFacts in a Flash class and/or MathsFacts in a Flash teacher, be ready to provide the students with their user names, passwords and PINs.
  3. You can see and print a list of student user names and passwords in Renaissance Place.

  4. If you are using Renaissance Home Connect, make sure that a school administrator or school network administrator has setup and activated Renaissance Home Connect for your schools. Then, print Renaissance Home Connect Informational Letters for the parents of your MathsFacts in a Flash students.

For more information, see Editing the Benchmarks Preference.

  10. If you are using tablets in your classroom and/or with Renaissance Home Connect, be prepared to provide your students with the web address of MathsFacts in a Flash Renaissance Place and/or Renaissance Home Connect.
  11. If you want to print from the tablets, you will need to work with your school's IT Department/ICT Support.

On tablets, additional printer setup may be required in order to print the report. The ability to print from a tablet depends on the type of tablet being used, the type of printer being used and/or the program or system being used to connect the tablet to a printer.
