About Reporting Parameter Groups
Reporting parameter groups are customised student groups that allow you to focus on students who meet specific criteria. A reporting parameter group can include students with a specific school enrolment date, ethnicity, gender, language, characteristic and/or year.
When you print Consolidated reports, you can select or create a reporting parameter group for the report. The reporting parameter groups that you create will be available to you when you generate reports in any Renaissance Place product on this server.
School network administrators and school administrators can remove the Filter Report by Characteristics and Filter Reports by Ethnicity capabilities, which allow you to select ethnicities and characteristics for a reporting parameter group.
On the Select Students page, you can choose to use a reporting parameter group by selecting the Reporting Parameter Group drop-down list, or you can create a new one by selecting Create New or Edit Selected.
On the Reporting Parameter Groups page, you choose the criteria for the group of students that you want to include in the report. Then, select Save to save the new group.
Click the links below for more information about the criteria that you can use. Note that for ethnicity, gender, language, characteristics and year you can use the select all and deselect all options in the left column to tick or untick all of the boxes.
To limit the report to students who were enrolled in your school before a specific date, type the date.
When you add a student to the software or edit the student's information, you can set the student's ethnicity. When you create a reporting parameter group, you can select specific ethnicities or Not Specified.
Like ethnicity, a student's gender is specified when you add or edit the student's information. When you create a reporting parameter group, you can include female students, male students and/or students whose gender is not specified.
Like ethnicity and gender, a student's primary language can be specified when you add the student or edit the student's information. When you create a reporting parameter group, you can include students with specific primary languages or students whose primary language is not specified.
If you want to use characteristics to create a reporting parameter group, you must first assign the appropriate characteristics to your students by editing each student's characteristics. Some characteristics are standard for all schools; others may have been added by an administrator or staff member. When you create a reporting parameter group, you can choose to include students with any of the selected characteristics or to include only students who have all of the selected characteristics by clicking Any or All in the left-hand column.
Like ethnicity, gender and language, each student's year can be specified when you add or edit the student's information. You can include specific years in a reporting parameter group.
Reporting parameter groups do not need to be limited to one category. You can select options among all of the categories to create a very specific reporting group. For example, you could set up a group that includes students who are Asian, female, Gifted and Talented and in years 1, 2 or 3.
