Checking Software Requirements
Anyone who uses this software can check to see if the computer being used has the programs or supporting software needed for the Renaissance Place software (such as a PDF reader or the Renaissance Place Print Plug-In).
If any programs need to be installed or updated, make sure you are logged in to the computer with the rights or permissions required to install software for all users. If you do not know whether you have those rights at the computer, of if you do not have those rights, contact your school's technology/computer coordinator.
Who can do this with default capabilities?
School Network Administrators, School Network Staff, School Administrators, School Staff, Teachers
If you have not logged in yet, open your web browser and go to the page where you choose how to log in (as a teacher/administrator or student). Then, click Check Software Requirements.
If you have logged in, click Product Administration on the Home page, and then click Download Supporting Software.
Click Downloads on the left side (or top) of the next page.
The Downloads page includes the following:
Server name or IP address:
This is the name or IP address of this Renaissance Place server. Note this information if you will be using Renaissance Place Download programs; some of the programs require you to enter the server name or address.
Renaissance Place ID:
This is a unique identifier that provides a shortcut to your Renaissance Place site. The Renaissance Place ID automatically appears on the Renaissance Place Welcome page and can be used wherever you see the RPID image.
Renaissance Place Downloads:
This section includes programs that work with your Renaissance Place products. The tab for your operating system is selected; to see the downloads for other operating systems, click another tab.
The AccelScan and Renaissance Responder programs are used for marking in Accelerated Maths.
The Renaissance Place Print Plug-In is used for printing paper Accelerated Maths assignments. The page will show whether this is installed and if so, the version installed.
If you need any of these programs, click the name of the program or its Download link. Some links will begin downloading the program; others will take you to a website where you can get the program.
To test for a PDF reader, click Test. If the software is working properly, a PDF file with a confirmation message will open. If this does not happen, click Download for instructions on how to download and install the latest version of Adobe Reader.
For Adobe Flash Player, the page will show whether the program is installed; if it is, the version will be shown. If not, click Download for Adobe Flash Player for instructions on how to download and install the latest version of the software.
