Viewing Student Details

Who can do this with default capabilities?

School Network Administrators, School Network Staff, School Administrators, School Staff, Teachers

The Student Details page shows one student's testing data, including the date of the latest test taken, the score the student received, the student's targets, growth rate (if more than four tests have been taken) and a running history of the student's testing activity.

There are two ways view a student's details page:

While generating a Student Progress Monitoring Report

  1. Click STAR Reading on the Home page, then click Screening, Progress Monitoring & Intervention.

  2. Select the Progress Monitoring & Targets tab , and use the School drop-down list to choose a school, if necessary.

  3. In the Search for Student area of the screen , you can enter all or part of a student's name in the appropriate fields to use as search criteria, or you can enter the student's ID number. You may also use the Year or Class drop-down lists to narrow your search to students in a particular grade or class.

    For teachers who have had the Manage Screening, Progress Monitoring & Intervention capability removed, choosing All Classes from the Class drop-down list will only include students from their own classes.

  4. Click Search .
  5. A list of students matching your search criteria will be presented . Students who fit your search criteria but have not taken a test yet will have a dash shown in place of a PR score. Click the name of a student. This will open the Student Details page for that student.

While setting up interventions and targets

  1. Click STAR Reading on the Home page, then click Screening, Progress Monitoring & Intervention.

  2. Click the Screening Status tab to make sure you are using the Screening Status view and use the School and Class drop-down lists to choose a school and class, if necessary.

  3. Click Preview in the row for a year . A year will not appear in this list until at least one student in that year has taken a test.

    For a teacher who has had the Manage STAR Reading Screening, Progress Monitoring & Intervention capability removed, a year will not appear in this list until at least one of that teacher's students in that year has taken a test.

  4. On the Screening Preview page, click View Students in the row for a category to view the students that are in that category.

  5. On the View Students page, click the name of a student . This will open the Student Details page for that student.
